On April 25–27, 2025, a total of 107 tourism management students from Metro Dumaguete College, accompanied by faculty members Ms. Sarah Dique, Ms. Yemane Joy Balucan, and Mr. Demostenes Roy Provido, participated in a three-day, two-night educational tour in Cebu City. Organized by Blue Horizons Travel and Tours, Inc., the tour provided students with valuable exposure to the tourism and hospitality industry, combining academic enrichment, industry immersion, and cultural experiences. The activity significantly contributed to the students’ professional growth and understanding of real-world tourism operations.
Highlights of the Tour:
Day 1: The group visited Plantation Bay Resort, Profoods International Corp., Kenneth Cobonpue Showroom, and the National Museum of Cebu City. It was a day filled with exposure to resort operations, food processing, Filipino design, and local history.
Day 2: After a buffet breakfast, students toured Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Magellan’s Shrine, Quickmelt Corp., and attended a seminar at MIHCA. The day ended with thrilling rides at Anjo World and a city night tour.
Day 3: A Tour Guiding Seminar by DOT-CATG Officer Mr. Cris Edren Dela Peña helped students enhance their communication and tour-leading skills. The final itinerary included visits to major religious and cultural landmarks in Cebu.
The tour combined hands-on industry exposure, cultural appreciation, and tourism training—an unforgettable experience that enriched the students’ academic and personal growth.
